About me

I am a 31 year old Mum of two, a boy born in March 2009 and a girl born in March 2011. I am in my second year at University, as a mature student studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

I was born in Yorkshire but moved to Oxford at the age of five when my Mum and Dad split up. Currently I live on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, having moved here nine years ago from London. We moved here when I married at the age of 21 (it'll never last - my wise father said), but we are still very much happily married.

The title of my blog is taken from the fact that because I don't sound like I am local I am treated as if I am not. An offcumden is a local word used to describe people 'not from round here'. You can read a post on what an offcumden is here.

I have worked as a football analyst, a sports researcher, an assistant producer in sports news, in one of Her Majesty's prisons and, more recently, on a mental health ward (to name but a few).

Since starting University, I have become interested in fitness and going to the gym. I'm not aiming to lose weight, just to get fit (which seems to be working). Sewing, baking and reading are what I do in my (very little) spare time. I also love sport, football, rugby union, golf and formula one being particular favourites!

This blog is my escape, my place to write what I am feeling and, occasionally, to rant. I write product reviews and also accept advertising. Click on my advertising, PR and disclosure page for more details.

If you are on Kindle, you can find my blog in a downloadable format on Amazon.
